ADVENTURE

Our Work

Turning partnership into action

For more than 40 years, people in Durham and Lesotho have worked together, sharing faith, skills, ideas and resources.

Together, we create opportunities for children and young people, support communities, encourage education and strengthen the life of the Church.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief:

We can achieve more when we work together.

Children & Young People

Children and young people are at the heart of the Link.

We create opportunities for young people to learn, grow, build confidence and discover their potential, through outdoor adventure, education, leadership and practical life skills.

We also work alongside communities to support vulnerable children and young people, including those living in child-headed households.

Our work helps young people to:

  • Build confidence and leadership skills

  • Learn practical and life skills

  • Experience outdoor adventure

  • Build positive relationships

  • Develop hope for the future

Education & Training

Learning from one another

Education has always been an important part of the Durham Lesotho Link.

Through school partnerships, visits, training and outdoor learning, people in Durham and Lesotho have opportunities to share knowledge, skills and experience.

We believe this is about more than teaching. It is about learning together and discovering what we can learn from one another.

This includes:

  • School and education partnerships

  • Skills development

  • Leadership training

  • Outdoor learning

  • Training and development

Partnership in Action

One relationship. Many possibilities.

Over more than four decades, the Link has supported projects in education, youth development, health, the environment, community development and outdoor adventure.

The projects may change, but the purpose remains the same:

Working together to create lasting opportunities.

The Lesotho Durham Link at Maqalika Dam provides a place where many of these relationships can continue to grow, welcoming groups and visitors from around the world.

The difference is in the relationships

The impact of the Link is about more than projects and numbers.

It can be seen in:

A child discovering a new opportunity.

A young person learning a new skill.

A church seeing faith from a different perspective.

A school building a lasting friendship.

A visitor arriving as a stranger and leaving with new connections.

These relationships are what make the Durham Lesotho Link special.

A partnership is not simply about what we accomplish. It is about what we become when we do it together.

Be Part of the Work
