The Link offers a range of accommodation options to suit different visitors and group sizes.

Choose from group and dormitory-style accommodation, budget accommodation, camping and a traditional rondavel, with facilities including a self-catering kitchen and spaces for groups to eat and spend time together.

The centre also provides practical facilities for residential visits, making it a great base for schools, youth groups, churches, conferences, retreats and visitors exploring Lesotho.

Whether you're staying for a night or bringing a group for a longer visit, you're staying somewhere with a purpose — with income from the centre helping support the wider work of the Durham Lesotho Link.

  • Comfortable shared accommodation for solo travellers and small groups, with linen provided and an indoor shower.

    Guests can use the shared kitchen or enjoy meals in our dining room, making it a practical and welcoming base for exploring Lesotho.

    Price: M350 per person, per night

  • Stay in a beautiful traditional Basotho-style rondavel overlooking Maqalika Dam. With a double bedroom, twin bedroom, lounge and private bathroom, it's fully equipped for a relaxing stay and is perfect for couples, friends or a small family.

    Price: M913 per night

  • Simple and affordable single-sex accommodation with four beds per room, ideal for groups, volunteers and budget-conscious travellers looking for a comfortable place to stay.

    Price: M300 per person, per night

  • Camp beside Maqalika Dam on our terraced lakeside campsite, with space for over 20 tents. You'll have access to electricity, hot showers, a shared kitchen, and the option to order meals from our dining room. Caravan pitches are also available.

  • Explore Maqalika Dam from the water with one of our most popular activities. Suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers, with instructors on hand to keep you safe.

  • Combine adventure and problem-solving as you navigate your way around the site using clues and coordinates to discover hidden locations.

  • Work together to design and build a raft before putting it to the test on the water. A brilliant team-building activity that encourages creativity and communication.

  • Enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Maqalika Dam while developing paddling skills in an open canoe, guided by our qualified instructors.

  • Try one of the fastest-growing water sports while enjoying beautiful views across the dam. Great fun for beginners and experienced paddlers alike.
